How to enter license key for renewal

Hi,

PUMAS 2.7.1 is installed but my license expired last year. I have a renewal license key for 2027 but don’t know how/where to enter it. When I enter using PUMAS at the julia> prompt I get the following response but there is no where to enter the new key. If I wait until the end of the execution it exits the REPL and if I try to type 1 or enter it eventually gives another julia> prompt. Entering the new key at the prompt produces an error also. Please advise how to enter the license renewal key.

Are you able to move the “>” symbol with the up and down keys? What happens if you hit enter when “>” is next to “enter license key”?

Hi Andreas,

I did try hitting enter with the > next to the enter license key. The system end up giving two julia> prompts (one because of finishing and one because of me hitting enter maybe?). I tried entering the key at the julia> but as expected it’s interpreted as a command which isn’t recognized.

Hi @jamesreynolds - can you instead of trying it in VSCode. Please do the following.

Assuming you are on windows

Start Windows terminal app separate from your vscode. Run julia +Pumas@2.7.1 (or whichever version you installed) which should start up a Julia REPL. Run import PumasLicenseManager and then in the license prompt try to copy in your license. Let us know if that still results in the pasting error and we can organise a call to debug.

Best,

Vijay

Hi Vijay,

That seemed to work. Why did it work on windows terminal but not in julia?

Regards,

Jim

The VSCode terminal on some, but not all, Windows systems seems to have issues taking user input. We are looking into the issue, but since it only happens on some Windows systems, it is challenging to debug.

Thanks much for the help and explanation.
