# Pumas installation error

1. Please make sure your old installation of Pumas 2.6.1 is removed from Add/Remove programs
2. open a new terminal (command prompt).
3. type `juliaup status`
4. check if the `*` is set next to julia 1.11.7 or 1.11.6 or something else? It has to be set to `Pumas@2.7.1` or `Pumas@2.7.0` , whichever one you installed.
5. to do this, you need to do `juliaup default Pumas@2.7.1`
6. check `juliaup status` again and now the ``*`` should be beside `Pumas..`
7. restart vscode
8. Now start julia REPL and let us know what comes up
