# Pumas Installation Error through VS Code

Hello,

I had an error during Pumas Installation following the online instruction. I also did not see the “Enter License Key” prompt after typing the command “Julia: using Pumas”. I attached the error message and was wondering if you could please take a look and help me check the issue.

What happens if you start Julia/Pumas via the Pumas VSCode extension as shown below

Hello,

Thank you very much for the instructions. Everything seemed to be working, and at the end of the installation I saw an “Enter License Key” prompt. However, I wasn’t sure why I couldn’t type in my license key or whether a special command was required. After that, the Julia interface suddenly closed, and the “Installing Pumpas@2.7.1” window appeared again with a message saying “History restored.” Please take a look at the following image.

Does this mean the installation was successful? Thank you!

Please try to start Pumas by selection “Open REPL” as in the screenshot I shared. If you are prompted for your license key then enter it. If not then you should be good to go.

Thank you so much! After trying that, I got the following image. Please take a look. I could not type in my license. I was wondering if I did something wrong. Thanks!

You can press enter to enter the license key. You may be better off doing this in a regular terminal , like powershell where you type

`julia` and press enter.

This should take you into Pumas where you can start Pumas by calling

`>julia using Pumas`

Here when the prompt comes to enter license key, hit enter on the line which has `> enter license key` and you will get a place to enter the license.
